Dr. Kalen Thompson is a native of Florida born in a town outside of Orlando, FL. Dr. Thompson Graduated from Seminole High School in Sanford, FL, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science at Florida State University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation, he went to work for a few years as an ophthalmic technician at his father-in-law’s practice Eye Associates of Pinellas. Here he discovered his love of eyes and optometry and decided to pursue a Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry. During his time there Dr. Thompson was an active student ambassador. Promoting the career of Optometry to students interested in the profession and school. Dr. Thompson graduated from Optometry School Cum Laude in May 2023. Dr. Thompson then went on to pursue a residency in primary care Optometry at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. Dr. Thompson practices full-scope optometry and is skilled in the management of many ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye.
In his free time, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with his family outdoors. Dr. Thompson is married to Dr. Emily Thompson and has a daughter and a dog named Millie. Dr. Thompson likes to stay active and enjoys walks outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather and is most often found spending time with friends and family.
